Green Springs to the state farm near Richmond. The Green Springs prison was to have cost roughly $18 million, but the same facility at the state farm, on property the state already owns, is said to cost $5 million, she said.

DURING the fight against the prison, many residents of Green Springs decided to protect the historic and scenic value of the area permanently, by placing their farms in scenic easements.
