From Pare 1 to deny the school board’s request for money to pay a speech therapist was that the schools could use the speech therapist provided by Chapter 10. Luke noted that the Supervisors had saved $16,000 by cutting two positions out of the school board’s request, and one of those was the therapist.
SCHWEMER noted that Chapter 10 recently opened a home for retarded women in Culpeper. One of the five women who lives there is from Rappahannock. But, he said, Chapter 10 would not be able to continue to provide services for Rappahannock people unless they re ceived funding from the county. Ke said that those counties that had not contributed their share would be the first to get cut off, if federal funding is diminished.
