The Commissioner emphasized that construction projects already under contract will not be disrupted, although some contracts may be curtailed, and added that a principal reason for deferring the additional work was to insure sufficient funds to pay for the current construction.
The Commission at present has approximately $340 million in remaining costs for the 262 construction projects under way throughout Virginia. Altogether, those projects bear a total combined contract value of $642 million.
