OBITUARIES
Robert Payne
A funeral service for Robert Lee Payne of Culpeper was held Tuesday at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert F. Ellis. Interment was in Hill - crest Memory Gardens.
Mr. Payne, 74, died Sunday at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Rappahannock County, son of the late John W. and Mary Hackley Payne.
He was employed most of his life in Washington, D.C. as an oil burner mechanic and moved back to Culpeper about eleven years ago.
Survivors include his wife, the former Norman Jean Taylor of Washington, D.C., two daughters, Miss Shirley Jean Payne and Miss Robin Lee Payne, both of Culpeper; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Noakes of Washington, D.C. and a brother, Norman Thomas Payne of Huntly.
Pallbearers were Frank E. Huff, Allie Huff, Douglas Clatterbuck, Reid Payne, Randall Payne and Jerry Payne.□
