THE EIGHTH annual Forestry and Wildland Resources Institute will be held on the Virginia Tech campus June 15-21, to give high school students an opportunity to look closely at possible careers in renewable natural resources.
William A. McElfresh, Tech Assistant Professor of Forestry and Extension 4-H Specialist, who directs the Institute, said that approximately $1,500 in scholarships will be available this year to help high school students, throughout the United States, aged 15 to 18, to attend the program.
The Tech Extension specialist said that the scholarships average about $100 and cover tuition, room and board. Donors include some seven forest products companies.
Requests for scholarships may be made at the time of application.
