This timp it’s Lady Panther Power!
Well, if you’re impressed with the good season our track teams seem to be off to—hang on for one more and that’s our boys baseball team. They have played three games (actually two scrimmages and one district game) so far this season.
The first scrimmage with Warren County our Panthers stole it 15-3 and the second was with Fairfax County High School, a triple A class school, more or less for practice and benefit of both teams.
Their first district game was Tuesday with Luray at home. Our team again defeated their opponents in an exciting game which ended with a 12-8 score. It looks as if the only way our track and baseball teams are headed is UP. Perhaps we will be bringing home a district championship—hope so! Student support has been great and I’m sure the players appreciate it.
Senior play practice is underway with Don Bomberger as director. They will be doing three one-act plays; two comedies and a thriller.
Senior trip plans are still underway and they will be submitting their plans to the School Board this week tor their approval.
The date for the Junior-Senior prom has been set for May 3rd and the Juniors will be ordering class rings May 7. More R.C.H.S. seniors who have been accepted at colleges include Kathy Dwyer, Mary Washington; Jay Miller, V.P.I.: Dorothy Walters, Ferrum; Grant Hill, and Anne Stokes, Virginia Weslyan.
There’ll be a flea market at R.C.H.S. on Saturday, April 26. If you have items which you’d like to donate or are interested in purchasing a table for selling, contact Mr. Harvell, Mr. Adkins or Mrs. Cindy Wayland. Proceeds go to the Senior Class.□
