Frank Huff, left, of Flint Hill was one of the first four Americans to meet the Russians at the Elbe River at the end of World War II. The inscription stamped on the back of this U.S. Army photograph reads “Historical meeting on 25 April 1945 between elements of the 69th Infantry Division, 1st U.S. Army and Russian men of the 58th Gardiv Division.” The caption identifies Huff and the Russian soldier, Sergeant Nicolai Andrsjev.
