The Senior play directed by Mr. Bomberger was a great success last week and the acting by the senior students was superb. Every one of them were very good in their parts and the audience manifested its approval and enjoyment.

Panther boys and girls track teams brought back good results from the regional meets last week. The girls placed fourth in a field of 12 schools and the boys were second out of 17 schools in Skyline District.

Margaret Jett was champion in the region in the shot put competition with a distance of 35’ 8”. Faye Dunn pulled second place in the high jump with a height of 4’ 11”, while Maureen Day was third with 4’ 10”, Connie Del Grasso was second in hurdles setting a new school record with a time of 11.75.

Our 880 relay consisting of Maureen Day, Marie Fletcher, Fay and May Dunn placed third and our mile relay team composed of Fay Dunn, Donna Cannon, Mary Hudson and Maureen Day placed third and set a school record with a time of 4:35.5.

I think the girls track team deserves a lot of credit and recognition for their great strides and accomplishments this season. They’re “superpanthers”.
