AFTER taking the Skyline District title in track competition, the Rappahannock County High School Panthers were edged into second place in regional competition Friday at Montevideo.
Bill Taylor continued his winning ways with a first place in both the mile and two mile, a repeat of his performance in the district events. Jerry Thomas placed third in each of these events. They were in competition with about 17 high schools.
The track season finishes this weekend with the state meet at Bridgewater College on Saturday. Four Rappahannock track men will participate: Bill Taylor, Jerry Thomas, Milton Fletcher and Raymond Groves. John Toth is the coach of the Panthers.u
