ington, D.C., Mrs. Kate Pendleton and Mrs. Nellie King, both of Amissville; sons, Thomas Groves of Middletown, Pa., James Robert Lee Groves and William Gus Groves, both of Washington, D.C., Raymond Groves, Amissville, Walter Groves, Jeffersonton and Julian Groves of Falls Church, and a step-son, George Shanklin of Amissville; 40 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are brothers, Thomas Groves and Marvin Groves, both of Middletown, Pa., and Gilbert Grove of Reading, Pa.; sisters, Rebecca and Elizabeth, both of Harrisburg, Pa.
A funeral service was held Saturday at the Bethel Baptist Church at Amissville conducted by the Rev. Carter Allsberry. Interment was in the church cemetery. His grandsons, Irving, James and Randall Pendleton, William Clark, Raymond Jr. and Robert Groves, acted as pallbearers.D
Mrs. Dennis
Mrs. Lena M. Dennis, 87, of Castleton died May 9, 1975 in Gordonsville. She was a native of Rappahannock County and a member of the Followers of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence M. Dennis; two sons, Willie Dennis of Castleton and Lawrence M. Dennis Jr. of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Clarence Dennis; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday at the Shiloh Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Christine Gordon. Interment was in the church cemetery. □
F.I. Tabler
Frank I. Tabler, 75, of Sperryville died at Fauquier Hospital, Sunday, May 11, 1975. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Frances Tabler; five daughters, one stepdaughter, and two step-sons; 17 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
