Federal funds totaling $26,025 have been awarded to the counties of Middlesex, Rappahannock, Buckingham and Carroll for emergency medical programs. The allocations are available under the U.S. Highway Safety Act of 1966 and its revisions and administered by the Highway Safety Division of Virginia according to Director John T. Hanna.

Middlesex and Buckingham counties each received $8,250 to purchase a medicruiser ambulance and radio equipment.
