Sweet potatoes are quite easy to store. Dig the roots carefully to avoid brusing. Cure them for about ten days at 80 degrees. They will keep for several months if stored at about 60 degrees in a moderately dry basement.

Winter type squash and pumpkins may be stored successfully in a moderately dry basement at about 60 degrees. Place on a shelf or counter. Do not store on a damp concrete floor.

Be sure that all the produce you store is firm, properly matured, and free of insect and disease damage. It is a waste of time and energy to store inferior vegetables. □
