MADISON Livestock Market, Inc., Madison Mills, has been suspended for violating trust account, conflict of interest, accounting, and recordkeeping requirements of the Packers and Stockyards Act, the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced. The firm is registered as a market agency to sell livestock on a commission basis. It operates the stockyard at Madison Mills.
Madison Livestock Market consented to issuance of the order and waived oral hearing. It neither admitted nor denied the charges in an administrative complaint filed by USDA’s Packers and Stockyards Administration. Administrative Law Judge John G. Liebert suspended the firm’s registration for a seven-day period, starting September 2. It may not operate as a market agency or dealer during that time.
