High School and served in that capacity for four years.
IN 1970, Bloomer was appointed principal of Nelson County High School, where he served for five years. For the past two school terms he has been the director of Vocational Education for Nelson County. During this tenure, one of the major responsibilities was the construction of the $3.2 million vocational center at the high school.
Related activities have included teaching and being a consultant for the University of Virginia Continuing Education Center. He holds membership in Phi Delta Kappa and various other educational and administrative organizations. Active participation has been maintained in the Virginia High School League for several years. Civic memberships include Jaycees, Ruritan, and Rotary Clubs.
Bloomer is a member, Sunday school teacher, and Deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston.
He is married to the former Joan Martin, who is also an educator. They have two daughters, Judith Lynn, an eighth grader, and Janine, a sixth grader.G
