The Washington Business Council, composed of eleven business interests in Washington, and growing, held its regular meeting Thursday evening, June 2 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Manson. Business discussed was the distributions of the newly printed historical brochure and progress on the historical sign to be erected in the near future on the hillside above Payne’s Garage.
Of major interest was the involvement of the business council in the Fourth of July festivities planned for this year in the Town of Washington. Members were urged to participate and encouraged to dress in' costumes and give demon-j strations in their shops to i add interest to the celebration. Burke Reunion
The family of the late Charles Lewis and Bessie Jenkins Burke will hold a family reunion Sunday, June 12 at the Rappahannock Recreation Center across Route 211 from the Washington entrance, beginning at 10 a.m., lunch at 1 p.m. Bring a picnic lunch and join old friends and relatives.
