Services for Bessie Hampton Jenkins of Culpeper were conducted Tuesday at Geest Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper, by the Rev. John McKay, assisted by the Rev. Robert Ellis. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.

Mrs. Jenkins, 78, died Sunday, March 5, 1978, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg following a long illness.

The daughter of the late John Lewis and Annie Jenkins, she was a native of Rappahannock County. She was a member of F. T. Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Cooper Ashby Jenkins; four sons, George E. Jenkins and John W. Jenkins of Culpeper, Irvin G. Jenkins and Jesse S. Jenkins, both of Fredericksburg; six daughters, Mrs. Ethel G. Wayland of Fredericksburg, Mrs. Virginia Winn of Richmond, Mrs. Mary Tovar of Florence, Ariz., Mrs. Dollie Fincham, Mrs. Anna Covington and Mrs. Florine Hitt, all of Culpeper; 31 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Fred Jenkins of Slate Mills.

Bertha Pullen

Bertha T. Pullen, 83, died March 7 at her home at Amissville.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Martha P. Garrison, Amissville, and Mrs. Lonie P. Dowell, Culpeper, eight sons, William H. Pullen, Shenandoah, Charlie Pullen, Fairfax, James Pullen, Manassas, Russell Pullen, Amissville, Johnnie Pullen, Alexandria, Bennie Pullen, Clifton, Presley Pullen, Craigsville, and Wilbert Pullen, Manassas, a brother Eddie Tharpe, Culpeper, two sisters, Mrs. Helen Jeffries, Culpeper, and Mrs. Maud Pullen, Falls Church, 33 grandchildren and 36 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the /Amissville United Methodist Church by Rev. W. Ray Crockett. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Friends may make a contribution to Amissville Fire Department in memory of Mrs. Pullen in lieu of flowers.
