550 Trees Ordered
In keeping with the community beautification spirit, approximately 110 families, businesses and organizations of Rappahannock County have taken the opportunity to add color to their landscape and improve wildlife food supply by placing orders for a total of 550 trees. The pink and white dogwoods will be approximately two to three feet tall. «
The Chinese Chestnut seedlings ordered will be from the Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District. The one year seedlings were selected from the seed stock of several of the best strains of Chinese Chestnuts that were developed over the years at the U.S.D. Beltsville Experiment Station.
These trees will be picked up by all who ordered them on Thursday, April 6 at the Rappahannock County Extension Office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. B
