Education
Within the next few days Rappahannock Elementary students will be taking home an explanatory booklet "What Continuing Education Can Do For You!" and an accompanying survey form. Parents who are interested in any of the 80 plus areas listed or any area of continuing education should return the survey form to the school by March 17,1978.
“This survey is part of a total needs assessment by the Valley of Virginia Consortium for Higher Education,” according to Delores Dalton Center Director of Planning District 9 of the Consortium. “It is being undertaken to determine the needs and interests of the citizens in our community with respect to continuing education.”
Assisting in the survey work are Diana Bird of Washington and Pearl Clarke of Amissville. Both are newly appointed members of the Planning District’s Community Advisory Committee. Their two year terms began in January.
After the survey forms have been collected here and in the other four counties of the Planning District, individuals who have checked high interest areas will be personally contacted to narrow down their interest to a specific course. The possible types of classes are endless from accounting to sewing, Spanish to welding. Some will be available on a non-credit basis while others
