The Rappahannock Supervisors have a second chance this year to do something about the hunting problem in the county. What was proposed at last week’s Board meeting was not a gun control ordinance but a hunter control law. It would give state game wardens a tool to fight “sportsmen” who shoot onto posted property from pickup trucks and roadways.
Rappahannock’s Commonwealth’s Attorney opposes adoption of the ordinance. Last year, he called the regulations adopted in Culpeper and proposed for Rappahannock "contradictory and unenforcable.” This year, he charged they are inconsistent.
