Teacher Reassignment
In recommendations to the School Board for policy manual revisions, the Education Association had suggested that changes be made regarding teacher reassignment.
Currently, the policy manual states that the Superintendent, with the approval of the School Board, may reassign any teacher provided reassignment doesn’t affect salary and provided that reports and explanations be given to the School Board, if requested. The Education Association proposed that if a teacher objected to reassignment, she or he would be allowed a conference with the administration. Should objections persist after the conference, then the teacher would accept the reassignment for a year with the understanding that she or he would have first consideration for assignment of choice the following year.
