She carried a cascade of green and white marguerite daisies, yellow sweetheart roses and baby's breath with yellow, green and white streamers tied in love knots.
Miss Deborah Furr of Staunton was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Jill Cookingham of Lynchburg, Mrs. Carol Smith of Lexington. Miss Anmarie Nemetz of Petersburg, Miss Cynthia Phillips and Miss Sue Powers, sister of the bride, both of Staunton.
Kristy Self of Grottoes, the bridegroom’s niece, was flower girl and ringbearer was Kim Allen of Waynesboro.
Best man was James Hartman, nephew of the bridegroom, of Staunton, and ushers included Kenny Miller, Roger Raines and Keith Rosson, all of Grottoes, Junior Thompson of Linville and Ricky Southerly of Port Republic.
Following the reception held in the church social hall, the couple left for a trip to Birchwood in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
Vesper
Season Opens
The 38th Annual Sunset Vesper Services will open its season on Sunday July 2. at the Carillon in Luray. The program will begin at 8 p.m., with a carillon recital by Charles Chapman. The Sunset Vesper Services will follow at 8:30 p.m., with Donald C. Kerr, Layman of the Luray United Methodist Church, as speaker. The Luray United Methodist Church Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Edith Zimmerman, will sing several selections. In case of rain the services following the recital will be presented at the Luray United Methodist Church on Main Street.
