Richie Burke of Woodville received a certificate in Automotive Repair from Lord Fairfax Community College, Middletown. He is the son of Mrs. Mabel Burke Leake of Woodville.
Thomas Gene Metzinger, son of Col. and Mrs. Dale Metzinger of Sperryville received an associate degree from Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia, at the 1978 commencement exercises.
Church Social
A yard social for the benefit of the Pastor’s Aid Club of Hopewell Baptist Church has been planned for Saturday, July 1 beginning at 2 p.m. at the home of C. C. Lewis in Sperryville. There will be games for all ages. The Rev. Thomas Gibbs of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church of Happy Creek will speak at Hopewell Baptist Church in Sperryville on Sunday, July 9 at 3 p.m. for the closing of the Women’s Day Rally. He will be accompanied by his congregation. All are invited to attend these events.
