Amissvite firemen completed a fund raising carnival last Saturday. In closing, various awards and prizes were distributed, in addition to prizes given for the Thursday parade entries.

John Hitt, Jr. of Amissville was awarded the grand prize of a thousand dollars and Fred Cooke of Viewtown received the $500 prize. $25 Savings Bonds went to H. C. Clayton and to Miss Garland Riley, both of Amissville; and to Eddie Wayland of Washington and Thomas Yates of Warrenton.

Jinny Pierson was awarded the hundred dollar cash prize and J. R. Latham was given the fifty silver dollars.

In parade competition the senior majorette group in first place was Clarke County and Clarke County also placed first in the junior division and the tiny tots category. Second in the latter two groups were the Nicholettes. Solo awards were given to Dana Louise Keefer, first and to Ginger Lee
