Curtis, 18, is the son of Paul and Charlotte Nichols of Flint Hill. An Eagle Scout and member of the National Honor Society, Curtis graduated third in the class of 1978 from Rappahannock County High School, with a 3.8 academic average. He enjoys swimming, and any form of athletics, and plays the fiddle, specializing in Blue Grass music.
After returning from Finland, Curtis will enter Virginia Military Institute to major in civil engineering.
