Jacobsen wrote that he
would contact the RajjK^ pahannock Board as soon as he received answers to legal questions. He noted that he was in complete agreement on the necessity of allowing “adequate opportunity for expression” from all concerned parties involved in the land trade. Jacobsen added that he would further extend the review period past July 25 should the situation warrant.
Equal Value Exchange?
Opponents of the land swap have questioned whether the transaction is in fact an "equal value exchange.” In 1974, Saddleback Corporation purchased 570 acres—including the 442 proposed to be traded for Park land—for S67.500 at six percent interest, payable in quarterly installments. The cost breaks down to SI 18.42 per acre.
