Miss Roberta Jo Powers became the bride of Roger A. Rosson on Saturday, June 24. 1978 in Bethany Presbyterian Church in Staunton. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Powers of Staunton. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Rosson, also of Staunton, and the late George H. Rosson. The bride is employed with the Rappahannock County School System.
The double ring ceremony, was performed by the Rev. Otis L. Fisher at four o'clock in the afternoon, Mrs. W. Douglas Riley was organist and accompanied soloist, Keith Rosson, brother of the bridegroom.
Given in marriage by her lather, the bride wore a formal gown of white satapeau fashioned with a Queen Anne neckline outlined in silk Venise lace roses. The Empire bodice featured matching lace appliques and the full bishop sleeves with silk lace medallions ended in a wide lace trimmed cuff and self fabric ruffle. Vertical rows of Venice lace enhanced the Aline skirt which flowed into a lace edged chapel train. She wore a finger-tip veil of imported French illusion edged in pearl embroidered silk Venise lace which was attached to a pearl and lace Camelot cap. DMV Closed
