On Tuesday, June 12, the Rappahannock Farmers Market will be one month old. As it moves into its second month of selling, the increasingly warm weather means that new fresh produce is available. Seasonal crops such as peas, spinach, mustard greens, chives, dill, parsley, sage and lettuce in particular will be appearing in quantity at the Market. Strawberries are also coming into season, but there is more demand for these than anything else.
Since the Market is open on Friday afternoon, and stays open all day Saturday, it is assumed that supplies of produce will remain uniform throughout both days. This, however, is not the case. Due to heavy demand on Friday, what appears on Saturday is, more often than not, a severely depleted stock. Customers are thus advised that by far the best time to come to the Market is on Friday afternoon. This is the
