In winning the award of Champion Marksman, Crossman certainly is evidence of this instruction. The competition took place over four days. Each student shot a thousand rounds each and out of two groups of trainees, five were chosen who had shot 90 per cent out of a hundred. Out of these. Crossman emerged the eventual winner.
In summarizing his experience in the seven-week program. Crossman said that more than anything else, he became familiar with a large area of knowledge about which he knew nothing before. In conclusion he stated, “I hope to put everything I learned into effect. I want to do the best job I can for the county."
