County Cars
—For the board of supervisors: Complete a cost analysis on supplying county cars for the sheriff's department. If the price tag on providing autos is any where near that of paying mileage, it's about time for Rappahannock to give up the dubious distinction of being the only county in the state to have law enforcement officers driving their own vehicles^ If Sheriff’s Department personnel weren’t losing money weekly trying to cover maintenance and gas costs with mileage payments, the county would have a better chance of keeping a few of the good men it has in law enforcement.
