Costs The price tag on meeting all our resolutions is staggering. Financing new school construction, a county dump, county cars for the sheriff’s department and the salary and office for a building inspector will mean a substantial jump in local taxes. The increase, however, could have been gradual if our elected and appointed representatives had accepted the handwriting that’s been scrawled on the wall for years. That put-off tomorrow is almost here and we’re going to have to pay today for delays from several yesterdays.
Us, Too
—Finally, for the Rappahannock News: We resolve to try to be more positive on our editorial page in the coming year and to hand out some praise along with the criticism we give the county’s elected and appointed representatives. A job well done deserves applause every bit as much as a botched job deserves censure. We still * reserve the right to criticize where criticism is due but we will attempt to accentuate the positive in 1980.
