Book Fair

Oct. 9-19

Rappahannock County Elementary will sponsor its annual Book Fair Oct 9-19, when students will have an opportunity to browse and purchase books, according to Mrs. Lucia Kilby, Librarian. Hours for the event are from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Mrs. Kilby issued an invitation to all students, parents and visitors to attend the Book Fair during the week and especially , on October 16 when a ParentTeacher conference is scheduled.

“The fair will encourage student interest in reading and in building home libraries,” said the Librarian. “It will contribute to a worthwhile project, for all profits .from the book sales will be used to purchase new books for the school library,” she continued.

“Your son or daughter will bring home a list of titles of the books which he or she has selected and wishes to buy. Please make any changes that you wish and return the list with the money by October 19,” continued Mrs. Kilby, who added that money will be collected daily in the library.

Mrs. Kilby concluded by saying that visitors are welcome to come in at any time to browse and purchase books. The display will include attractive new books from many publishers in all popular price ranges. These books would make nice Christmas gifts.
