In plan C, Jackson District will lose people living along the west side of Route 729 from Ben Venue to Route 622 to Hampton District. (Affected under this proposal will be Jackson District’s representative on the county school board, Beverly Massie. According to commonwealth’s attorney Douglas Baumgardner, if plan C is adopted, Mrs. Massie will be able to finish out her term, despite the boundary change that would move her to Hampton District.)
Also under plan C, the area south of Route 729 and 640 to the Thornton River will be in Stonewall instead of Jackson District. A triangle from Rock Mills to Five Forks down to the Thornton River will be changed from Hampton District to Stonewall.
The west side of Route 231 between Route 681 and near Ashby’s Corner will go from Stonewall to Piedmont. Stonewall also will lose to Piedmont District an area «outh of Route 620 and west of Route 621 and Five Forks down to the Thornton River.
Plan D, an option requested by Hampton supervisor Clarence Baldwin as a means of returning Gid Brown Hollow to his district, involves the, most boundary changes.
Under plan D. Jackson District will lose an area from south of Route 622, west of Route 729 and south of Route 640 to Stonewall. From Hampton District, Stonewall also will gain -an area that goes from Rock Mills south of Route 622 to its intersection with the Shade Road to Five Forks and the Thornton River.
Piedmont District will give a little triangle between Route 620 and 522 almost to the Thornton River to Stonewall. Piedmont also will lose the east side of Gid Brown Hollow to Hampton District.
To balance population. Piedmont will take from Hampton and Stonewall Districts a large area that extends from Rediviva to the Shade Road to Five Forks out Route 620 to Fletchers Mill and south on Route 522 to approximately two miles northwest of Woodville over to Route 621 and south on Route 231 to the Madison County line.
