Ka|>fMhantt«»rk Vh» Staff 1 rilrr With a substantial percentage of voters still undecided, a Rappahannock News poll conducted October 5 shows Democrat Chuck Robb leading Republican Marshall Coleman in the race to the governor’s mansion in Richmond.
In the random telephone survey of registered voters, 48.3 percent supported Robb, 35.4 percent favored Coleman and 16.1 percent were undecided. The News pool found Republicans Nathan Miller and Wyatt Durrette leading Democrats Dick Davis and Jerry Baliles in the contest for It. governor and attorney general but with larger percentages of undecided voters. In addition, Republican incumbent Raymond R. “Andy” Guest outpolled Democrat Richard Catron by a more than two-to-one margin for the delegate’s seat to the Virginia General Assembly representing the 18th legislative district composed of Rappahannock, Warren, Clarke and Page counties.
Combined pre-election polls conducted by Arundel Newspapers, including the Loudoun-Times Mirror, Reston Times, Fauquier Democrat and Rappahannock News, give Robb a 42.5 percent edge over
