Court House Repairs
In other action, the board authorized putting repair projects for the interior of the court house out on bids with Fanning Baumgardner to write specifications for the work. Included will be painting offices formerly occupied by the commissioner of revenue and renovation of the commonwealth's attorney’s offices.
“I believe that the county buildings in general and the court house in particular should be kept in good order,” remarked Piedmont supervisor Charles K. Estes.
“I don’t think this should be a half measure, stop gap or temporary repair. It should be permanent,” he said of plans to correct the falling plaster and leaky walls of the commonwealth’s attorney’s two rooms in the court house.
The supervisors also approved the site plan for development of Rappski Limited Partnership’s 300 acres in Harris Hollow into nine parcels ranging in size from 25 to 75 acres as recommended by the county planning commission.
In addition, the board voted unanimously to reappoint George Muth as library board trustee.
