Askew said he hopes the funding picture will improve in the spring "so I can get back into the construction business.” In the meantime, “1 hope and pray for another easy winter,” he concluded.

In another minor “housekeeping matter”, the supervisors, at Askew's request, authorized the discontinuance of a short road section in front of Hackley’s Store in Amissville and addition of the relocated road about 35 feet away.
The discontinued portion will remain highway department right-of-way and is proposed tentatively as a commuter parking lot sometime in the future. "1 hope when funds improve—if they ever will—that we can do something there,” Askew said.
