Coleman's 35.9 percent with 20.6 percent of surveyed registered voters still to make up their minds a month before the November 3 elections.
Here in Rappahannock County, Republican candidates made the strongest showing in the WoodvilleSperryville area. Coleman garnered support from 40 percent of registered voters polled compared to Robb's 33 percent and 27 percent undecided. The margin was even wider in other races.
The Chester Gap-Huntly area, traditionally a Democratic stronghold, gave Miller a two-to-one edge over Davis. Miller being Rappahannock’s representative to the State Senate, name recognition may be a factor in the Republican lead in that race.
In every area but Woodville-Sperryville, registered voters surveyed preferred Robb over Coleman as Virginia’s governor. The margin was 67 percent to 33 percent in Chester GapHuntly; 46.6 percent to 33.3 percent with 20.1 percent undecided in AmissvilleCastleton; 50 percent to 35 percent with 15 percent undecided in WashingtonFlint Hill.
