Nurse Saw Every Shift
Lt. Georgia Liston Daley, the 26-year-old naval nurse now stationed at Portsmouth Naval Hospital who was in charge of the floor where Holmes was a patient during the evening shift, recalled that she spoke with the colonel at least an hour each night. She described him as a strong man who “knew what he wanted and asked for what he wanted.”
During the month that Holmes was under her care, she said she saw him reading a lot and going over what "appeared to be business type papers...stacks of papers...doing his own business.”
