Airport Hosts Fun Day

The Front Royal Airport will host a day of fun on Sunday, August 15. beginning with a pancake and sausage breakfast served from 6 a.m. until noon, rain or shine. Airshows will start at 2 p.m.. weather permitting, featuring aerobatic demostrations and a "dog fight" performed by George Phillips, Mervin Bourque and Jeff Ethell in two Pitts specials and a Starduster. Antique, ultra light and experimental aircraft will be on display. A remote control airplane will also be exhibited. Plans for the day also include hot air balloon rides, airplane rides and pony rides. William O'Brian from the Federal Aviation Administration will present a safety seminar with slide films from I to 2 p.m. In addition, hot dogs, hamburgers and soft drinks will be sold by the Civil Air Patrol. Admission to the tun day is free. The airport is located on Route 615 off Route 619 south of Front Royal. For further information, telephone 635-3570.
