was elected V icePresident of Piedmont District, at a meeting of the Virginia Bar Association, held at White Sulphur Springs. West Virginia. The officers took over their duties after the elections at the 60th Annual meeting.
Cecil Carthy who piloted a spraying airplane was forced to land after developing engine trouble. Carthy was spraying cornfields in the vicinity of Flint Hill and Washington. The airplane sprayed 300-400 acres of corn by this method with DDT to combat Japanese beetles.
Roadcap Atkins of Sperryville sold his 4 month old calf at the livestock market in Front Royal. Atkins' calf brought the highest price at $140.33 for it's 515 pounds. The calf was sired by a pure-bred Hereford bull out of a part Jersey and Hereford cow.
