After 2v2 hours of
testimony at the Board
of Supervisors meeting, the Supervisors in a majority vote denied a rezoning application for a proposed development outside of Flint Hill. The rezoning was turned down for the C.L. Goode's Mountain Slopes subdivision.
The Rappahannock School Board meeting was plagued with problems since the RCES sewage treatment lagoon permit expired. The SWCB would not give an extension because the effluent does not meet the newly adopted standards for suspended solids and BOD content.
Emergency loans were offered by the Farmer’s Home Administration to those farmer's who need farm credit as a result of the drought. The loans covering actual production losses were used to buy feed, seed, fertilizers, livestock and to meet interest payments on current real estate and chattel payments.
