For 1982-83, wages paid to 63 teachers in 'Rappahannock’s two public schools total $878,692. according to the report.

He noted that some categories of employment have salary steps while others do not and emphasized that it will be a challenge to devise an index scale for non-professional employees. Referring to the teachers’ present salary scale. Lvsik told the board he “would wonder what the rational is for the differences (in precentage raises included in the pay system).’’ He pointed out that wage increases at the different, steps in the existing salary scale jump back and forth between two and three percent.
