The task of enrolling the million study participants falls to a dedicated army of more than 80,000 American Cancer Society volunteers. In Rappahannock, Konick and her assistants, Joanne Bankston and Ethel Bailey, will enlist the needed subjects. Participants will be expected to complete and return questionnaires to research volunteers by the end of the second week in September.
