Joseph Jackson Johnston, 68, of Boston, died Saturday, April 2, 1983, at University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Della Hisle Johnston. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church at Boston.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Compton Johnston; a son, Gary Michael Johnston of Culpeper; a daughter, Miss Sandra Carolyn Johnston of Culpeper and one sister, Mrs. Russell T. Deane of Boston.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. William Lancaster. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
Pallbearers were R. E. Deane, Gary Schoenfeld, Walter Johnston, Jr., Leroy Johnston, Richard Compton and William Burke.
