Ennis B. Jenkins
Retired Horse Trainer
Ennis Brown Jenkins, 61, of Orange died Tuesday, April 5, 1983, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
He was bom on August 11, 1921, in Rappahannock County, a son of John Golden and Lena Fincham Jenkins. He was a retired horse trainer and with his sons owned and operated Hilltop Stables.
Survivors include his wife, Aileen Payne Jenkins of Orange; one daughter, Miss Bernice Virginia Jenkins of Orange; three sons, Ennis Rodney Jenkins of Culpeper, F. Larry Jenkins of Gordonsville and Allen Jenkins of Warrenton; seven grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
Also surviving are three brothers, John Jenkins and Olan Jenkins, both of Richmond and James Jenkins of North Carolina and four sisters, Mrs. Beulah Payne and Mrs. Hilda Burke, both of Richmond, Mrs. Inez Burke of Berryville and Mrs. Catherine Smith of Culpeper.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 2 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Chapel in Orange. Burial will be in Graham Cemetery, Orange. The Rev. A. C. Tatem will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Orange Rescue Squad and the American Heart Fund.
