Mrs. Alice Vergie Woodard, age 87, of Washington, died Thursday, March 31, 1983, at her residence.
Mrs. Woodard was a native of Rappahannock County and had lived here her entire life. She was the widow of James Jett Woodard.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. George G. Smoot, Jr. of Washington; two sons, Charles B. Woodard and Jack S. Woodard, both of Washington; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at Clore Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper on Monday by the Rev. Edward Jenkins. Burial was in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roy Leake, Edward C. Jenkins, William Corbin, Johnny Woodard, Tommy Woodard and Wayne Woodard.
