Mrs. Frances Thornton was a guest Saturday of her aunt, Mrs. Francis Churchill Jones in Richmond and spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thompson in Fork Union.

Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Clarke and Mrs. Delia Leake visited Mr. and Mrs. Homer Jenkins, at Etlan on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Jenkins recently returned home from the VA Hospital in Martinsburg, W. Va.

Dr. and Mrs. Larry Kushner, of Gaithersburg, Md., were guests Friday and Saturday of Mrs. Catherine Brown. Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Overhulser, of Springfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Payne, of Falls Church.

Mr. and Mrs. A.Y. Stokes returned home from a tour of England.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Witten, of Biglersville, Pa., were visitors Friday of Mrs. Mary Quaintance and later with Mrs. T.M. Johnston were dinner guests of Mrs. Quaintance at Brookside. Mr. Witten was a former assistant principal at the Rappahannock County Elementary School.

Miss Ann Dwyer has returned to the home of her sister, Mrs. Ruby Dwyer after speaking engagements in Washington, D.C., Richmond and Tennessee.

Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Cloe, Jr., and daughter, Beth, of Stafford and son Weedon, of the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg were Sunday guests of their parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Pillar and to celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Pillar.

Mrs. Janet Clater, Mrs. Eva Dodson, Mrs. Dot Campbell, Mrs. Mildred Hutt and Mrs. Wanda Jenkins were hostesses to a miscellaneous shower for Mrs. Bonnie Sue Baldwin on Sunday afternoon at the Washington Fire Hall. A fire recently destroyed the Baldwin home.

Dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Ethel Tyner and Miss Nellie Atkins were Elder and Mrs. Elmer Skeen, of Palmyra, Mrs. Lois Frazier and Frances Leake, of Warrenton.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Lee Swindler, Jr., of Hanover, Pa., were weekend guests of his mother, Mrs. Lee Swindler and aunt, Mrs. Roy Swindler

The following news occurred during the past weekend.

Mrs. Mary Quaintance was hostess to members of the Sperryville Bridge Club and additional guests at her home on Friday evening.

Prize winners were Mrs. Metzinger, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Kilby. Mrs. Tholand won first prize as a guest.
