Preparation for the Wakefield school’s 1985-86 Basketball season is well underway. Coach Gary Leake and both the junior varsity and varsity teams are working on basic fundamentals from ten to twelve hours a week. Five different offenses and five different defenses have been introduced and are being practiced along with every other phase of the game. On any afternoon during the week, a visitor to the school’s gym can find the team practicing their shots and drilling vigorously. The team’s enthusiasm has spread to the

“I have worked in all phases of the arts — from bluegrass to visual,” Anne emphasizes. “Voice just happens to be the phase I started in.”
Anne also points out that her professional interests have been as much in administration as in performance. She is still undecided about taking on some private students for applied voice.
Is Rappahannock ready for opera?
“It is definitely ready for good musical theatre,” she smiles. “It is a very sophisticated community as far as their cultural tastes go, judging from past RAAC programs.”
