Lizzie Pullen
Lizzie Noakes Pullen, 93, of Flint Hill, died Friday at Lynn Care Center in Front Royal.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at Flint Hill United Methodist Church by the Rev. Merlin W. Shorb. Burial was in Flint Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pullen was bom April 14, 1892, in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late William R. and Julia Pullen Noakes. She was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church and was married to the late Horace C. Pullen, Sr.
Surviving are a son, James T. Pullen, Sr. of Falls Church; three daughters, Julia Lillard and Etelee P. Putnam, both of Front Royal; and Ruth Harding, of Arlington; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Pullen, Raymond Pullen, George Pullen, Robert Lillard, Jr., Ted Putnam and Earl Lillard.
Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.

club organized

The new daytime Rappahannock Homemakers’ club had our organizational meeting on Thursday, November 7.
Officers elected were: president, Mrs. Maybelle Gilkey; vice-president, Mrs. Katherine Kiley; secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Tony Updike; and reporter, Mrs. Nancy Scoggin.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, December 5 at 9:30 a.m., at the home of Nancy Scoggin in Washington. This meeting will be a Christmas cookie arid gift exchange. All those interested in joining the group are urged to come and join. We will be bringing about five dozen cookies to taste as well as exchange and a gift under $5.00.
If you have not joined a Homemakers’ group because of the evening meeting time, this is the perfect club for you.
