Films shown at Library

Two short films for children and adults of all ages, a Dr. Seuss classic and a film dealing with the rainforest, wiH be shown for free at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 in the Rappahannock Library.

The films, “The Lorax" and “The Man of the Trees," are sponsored by the Rappahannock Rainforest Action Group and the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection.

"The Man of the Trees" tells the story of Richard St. Barbe Baker, the global Johnny Appleseed.

Free and open to the public.

Spring PTO meeting slated

The spring conference of the Rappahannock Elementary School Parent and Teacher Organization (PTO) will be held in the school auditorium, 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29. Agenda topics include school expansion, transportation, volunteer programs, phone tree, nominations for next year's officers and more.

The conference is the final general session of the PTO for the present school year, so parents are urged to attend. Sitters and activities will be provided for the children and refreshments will be served.
