Diapers were
the worst
To the Editor:
My husband and I didn’t spend our Sunday afternoon the way the typical Rappahannock County resident might, and after reading my letter, I think you will agree.
We ventured out down our hollow’s dirt road with rubber gloves, plastic trash bags and a determination to have our road look a little better, by picking up trash that was becoming a great eyesore, to us at least.
We had planned to pick up the usual: bottles, cans, paper, etc. What we now know is what the etc. was, disposable diapers, some put in bags and some just thrown from the window, please note that these had been used. We picked up trash alongside the road from our house for approximately one half-mile and back again. In that stretch of road we were unlucky enough to find three of our diaper foe’s.
What I hope to accomplish with this letter is that whoever threw these out will feel guilty enough to not do it again in the ftiture, and if they don’t maybe the next person will think twice before they do it.

Cruel and
irresponsible
To the Editor
It was gratifying to see in'the last issue of the Rappahannock News photos of dogs available for adoption at the Rappahannock Shelter.
It is very important that your readers realize how many dogs are abandoned by irresponsible and, in fret, cruel people.
